This is my husband's meat pie recipe. He is an avid hunter so there is always game meat in the freezer for him to put this recipe together.
INGREDIENTS
1 pound ground venison
3 pounds ground pork
3 medium potatoes, cooked
and mashed
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 onion, minced
1 carrot, shredded
2 tablespoons GF beef soup
base
1 tablespoons GF Montreal steak spice
1 teaspoon GF Worcestershire
sauce
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon cloves
3 bay leave
Dash thyme
4 GF pie shells ( I use my Favourite
GF pie crust recipe posted on this blog)
DIRECTIONS
Mix all ingredients together
except for potatoes and pie shells.
Brown the meat mixture and
simmer for half an hour.
Drain fat.
Add potatoes and mix well.
Allow mixture to cool to
room temperature.
Fill 2 pie shells with meat
mixture and add top shells.
Seal edges and add vent
holes.
Bake
at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 1 hour, until crust is nicely browned.
