Ham and Cheese Dog

This is a tasty hotdog recipe I enjoy when I have little ones around. It is quick to put together and is a real kid pleaser. Of course you can add your favourite toppings to this. The recipe is for one but can easily be increased to the number of people you are serving. This recipe can be modified to suit most food intolerances by using gluten free buns and wieners and you can use non-dairy veggie "cheese" slices.

INGREDIENTS
1 GF hot dog bun
1 GF deli style wiener
2 thin GF slices deli style ham
1 slice of cheese
1 teaspoon hot mustard
1 sandwich style dill pickle
1 teaspoon vegetable oil

DIRECTIONS
Place two slices of ham atop each other and top with one slice of cheese; set aside.
Heat the vegetable oil to medium-high in a non-stick skillet and add wiener.
Cover and toss the skillet back and forth while cooking so the wiener doesn’t stick, until the skin just starts to bubble.
Remove with thongs and place on top of the cheese topped ham slices close to the edge.
Wrap the ham and cheese around the wiener and place this, seam side down, into the skillet.
Press down on the wrapped wiener with a spatula to seal the seam.
Carefully turn over the wiener to crisp the ham.
When the ham is crisped and golden, remove with thongs and place on the warmed bun; add pickle and mustard.
Enjoy!
